Procurement processes

TL;DR

The time is now. It is shopping for parts.

Introduction

Last week after having answered so many questions, we were on the move to start purchasing the necessary parts for our frame (We had already procured the Jetson Nano as well as Lidar before the project even officially started). As discussed last week, Mr Ben, our project’s lecturer had recommended us to a hardware store in the Jurong district. He also suggested we drop by IKEA to have a look at converting shelves for our use case. On this note, we had looked into some products IKEA had to offer online and some of them seem suitable for us.

Setting off

This week happened to be whitespace week so we didn’t have to head back to school. We took this opportunity to make our way down to get the items. 🤞

Hardware shelves

Us at the hardware store to admire shelves upon shelves of parts and let our imagination run wild on how we are going to utilise them.

Hardware parts

We found some parts that was to our liking but we still felt that they do not compare well to the ones we saw from IKEA. 🧐

Dejected but having learnt a lot, we left the place without purchasing anything. Rather than waste any time, we made our way down to IKEA to find for the items we needed.

IKEA

All I could say was that we had a lot of fun exploring places which unfortunately I might not have the time to document everything down so I would go with key progress in relation to our project.

Considerations

We spent some time walking around the place to capture some of the parts which might be useful for our project.

Mona Lisa

Nothing in particular here, just two handsome boys admiring a painting. 🤗

And what do I say, we actually got the shelve which we were looking for. Having purchased it, we called our trip a success. 🤟
