Blog Posts

3 minutes

Been a long while

I must admit my last post was somewhere in January and it’s been rather quiet ever since. Before I start I do appreciate that you all are coming back despite visiting a page that was last updated a good 2 months back. I am sure that a lot of things had changed within this period and it is no different for me. Detailed in this post are just some of my plans moving forward. Taking this as an opportunity to stop and reflect on some things of the past.

Motivation

This blog came mostly due to assignments I had in school where we have to keep a blog. I must say though that the time I spent making this place possible certainly kept me coming back. I do not know if the content is interesting to you but I can assure you that they are of things that mattered to me when I wrote them (Blogs about school personally attacking my grades). I do have several blogs before this and there is just something about blog writing that is plain engaging and fun. I think this is also a time where I must apologise to some of my friends if you are reading this, that it also provides a gateway to convey the things which I did not have the time to talk about during my hectic work life.

If I start on a post, I begin off being highly enthusiastic about sharing my thoughts on a certain topic or a concept. However, in the interest of time, I must admit that most of the blogs end up being semi-completed. And even more unfortunate is that this happens more often than not. The number of blog posts that I left off halfway through is starting to pile up and never got my way to finishing them. I still have a shelve of posts that I had begun writing and wanted to share but with them suffering the same fate.

Reasons

Following the change in my website’s domain, I must say that had also impacted my decision to continue with the blog posts. With the domain changing and not having a home, it gets hard to have a reason as to whether people will come across the posts. That is not to say that I do not appreciate the efforts that you all go into to find where all the blogs had shifted to. Rather, having this current domain name doesn’t quite roll off the tongue as it used to. Until I can find a way to settle down the website, I might need your feedback on whether I should have the posts coming in.

Website Updates

Moving forward, rest assured that there will be changes to the website in terms of design and sustainability. As earlier mentioned, I would consider that most of the page was hastily done up within a few days and there are areas be it a design that you see and the garbage code that I see which I would like to have redone. I had earlier started up on this process but I do seek your understanding that the change would not be so soon. Given that I would have NS for the next 2 years, I do not see myself using the website as often to showcase my portfolio or buying a domain anytime soon.

The redesign would arrive first to my portfolio then to my blog website. If you feel some things could be improved on the websites, do tell me as well. Till then, I will keep to my original promise that there will be more posts to come. I might also be considering removing or updating the older blog posts to clean up the site. I am starting to feel that it could have become a dumpster of projects done in my 3 years studying at Poly.

Childishness aside, I think it is high time I turn this place into something much more meaningful and appropriate.

PS. My site supports RSS Feeds. Search it up on Google. While I appreciate it, I can’t bear it if people come back so often. It stresses me out.
